Changde Vocational and Technical College is a comprehensive higher vocational college organized by the People’s Government of Hunan Province, in charge of the People’s Government of Changde City, and under the business management of the Hunan Provincial Department of Education. The school merged with Changde Mechanical and Electrical Engineering School. The school can be traced back to the Hunan Agricultural School established in Changsha in 1905 (the 31st year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty). The college was awarded the excellent grade in the 2006 "Ministry of Education Talent Training Work Level Evaluation", and passed the second evaluation of the Ministry of Education Talent Training Work in 2011; became a model higher vocational college in Hunan Province in 2012; became a Hunan Province to China in 2014 International student enrollment unit; in 2017, it became the national digital campus experimental school and the second batch of modern apprenticeship pilot higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education.
The college covers an area of 1,070 acres, with a building area of 365,600 square meters, a total fixed assets value of 429 million yuan, a total value of 134 million yuan of teaching and research equipment, and a collection of more than 906,000 paper books. The college currently has 1,175 faculty members (including affiliated hospitals), including 593 full-time teachers, 219 teachers with senior professional titles, and 369 teachers with doctoral and master's degrees.
The college has more than 13,000 full-time vocational students. There are Department of Nursing, Department of Medicine, Department of Pharmacy, Department of Agriculture and Economics Management, Department of Mechanical and Electrical, Department of Civil Engineering, Department of International Education, Department of Public Courses, Department of Basic Medicine, School of Marxism, School of Continuing Education, Library, Modern Education Technology Center It has a second-tier affiliated hospital and a judicial appraisal center; it has a higher vocational education research institute, Changde Taohua Research Institute, Changde Jishi Pharmaceutical Research Institute and other research institutions. The majors of landscape technology and mechatronics technology are the key construction majors supported by the central government; the pharmacy major is the exemplary specialty of Hunan Province, and the nursing major is the special specialty of Hunan; the major of pharmaceutical technology, health service, modern agricultural technology and The service professional group was established as the first-class characteristic professional group construction project of higher vocational education in Hunan Province.
