Hunan High Speed Railway Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1951 by the Ministry of Railways. The first president was General Guo Weicheng, who later served as Minister of Railways and Deputy Commander of the Railway Corps. The college focuses on the development of the high-speed rail industry, and establishes majors to fully connect with the engineering construction, operation, maintenance and diversified services in the high-speed rail industry chain. It follows a professional and sophisticated school-running road. It is the first higher vocational college named "high-speed rail" in the country. . The college currently has 22 majors in 5 departments, 1 school, 1 school, including Railway Engineering Department, Railway Architecture Department, Railway Transport Department, Railway Telecommunications Department, Railway Electromechanical Department, etc., forming a professional pattern covering the six core technologies of high-speed rail with distinctive characteristics. Focus on cultivating high-end skilled professionals with "high quality, high standards and high efficiency" for the front line of the high-speed rail industry.
