Hunan Vocational and Technical College of Chemical Industry is a state-owned public full-time college sponsored by the Hunan Provincial People’s Government and directly under the Hunan Provincial Department of Education. The school was founded in 1958, formerly known as Hunan Chemical Industry School. In September 1998, it merged with Hunan Zijiang Chemical School. In April 2003, it was upgraded to Hunan Vocational and Technical College of Chemical Industry. In January 2010, it merged with Hunan Chemical Machinery School (Hunan Industrial Advanced Technical School) merged. In recent years, the school has successively won the National Petroleum and Chemical Industry Advanced Group, the Provincial Civilized Colleges, the Provincial Vocational Education Advanced Unit, and the Provincial Education and Scientific Research Advanced Unit. The new campus of the school covers an area of 573 acres, with a building area of more than 260,000 square meters. There are 8 teaching units including the School of Chemical Engineering, the School of Pharmaceutical and Biological Engineering, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Automation and Information Engineering, the School of Business, the Basic Courses, the Teaching and Research Department of Ideological and Political Theory Courses, and the Technical Engineering Department. , Machinery, Automation, Information and Economics six major categories, 37 higher vocational majors (including direction). The school is a high-skilled talent training base in Hunan Province, a demonstration base for enterprise talent training in Hunan Province, and the lead unit of Hunan Chemical Vocational Education Group. The school, together with Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Zhuzhou Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, has established a scientific and technological innovation service platform for small and medium-sized enterprises in the petrochemical industry of Hunan Province, and jointly established a provincial vocational education big data research center with the Hunan Provincial Department of Education.
