Jishou University was founded in 1958. It is a comprehensive university under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province and the only comprehensive university in the Wuling Mountain area.
The school is a university jointly established by the National Civil Affairs Commission and the Hunan Provincial People's Government, a national "Middle and Western University Basic Capacity Building Project" university, a key construction university in the "Wuling Mountain Area Regional Development and Poverty Alleviation Plan", and an excellent school for undergraduate teaching level evaluation by the Ministry of Education , Hunan Province is an excellent school for the quality evaluation of postgraduate training process, recommending outstanding undergraduate graduates to study for master's degree in ordinary universities without exams.
