Wuhan Vocational College of Foreign Languages and Foreign Affairs was established in 2002 with the approval of the People's Government of Hubei Province and filed by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.


The college is located on the shore of the beautiful East Lake and at the foot of Mo Mountain, in the middle of Luoyan Island Scenic Area; it is adjacent to the Wuhan Railway Station under construction in the east, the misty East Lake in the west, the graceful Moshan to the south, and the busy Youyi Avenue to the north. ; The environment is elegant and the scenery is beautiful, it is an ideal place for the students to study and study.


The college covers an area of about 480 acres and has a building area of more than 300,000 square meters. It has invested more than 300 million yuan to complete the construction including teaching buildings, sports fields, libraries, various laboratories, standard student apartments, student canteens, standard track and field fields, and staff dormitories. , Canteens, supermarkets and other complete teaching and living facilities. Among them, the total value of teaching equipment is nearly 18 million yuan, and the library has 364,000 volumes of various books (including electronic books equivalent to 150,000 volumes).


  The college has eight departments and 23 majors, among which the major of "Tourism English" is a key major at the municipal level in Wuhan. It recruits students from 28 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country, and currently has 5,115 students.


The college has 41 on-campus experimental training rooms, 29 off-campus training and practice bases, and 9 employment internship bases. Among them, the multilingual foreign language self-learning center on campus is fully functional (including more than 400 open foreign language self-learning rooms, simultaneous Interpretation training room, teaching recording and broadcasting hall, teaching film and television viewing hall, overseas radio and television satellite receiving station, etc.), with first-class equipment, which better meets the needs of students' teaching and training.


   There are nearly 300 teachers in the college, and 35% of them have associate titles or above. Some of them are skilled craftsmen and senior technicians from enterprises and institutions. In order to strengthen foreign language teaching and reflect the characteristics of the college, the college hired 14 full-time foreign teachers from the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, France and other countries to teach foreign languages. The pass rate of students' English test is among the highest among similar colleges and universities in Hubei Province, and the employment rate of graduates exceeds 90%.


   The college conducts international cooperation with higher education institutions in the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, the United States and other countries. After students have studied in the college for three years, qualified candidates can apply to partner institutions in the above-mentioned countries to continue their undergraduate and master's studies.


   The college will continue to increase investment, improve the conditions for running a school, optimize the subject structure, adjust the professional layout, and gradually form a school system with distinctive foreign language and foreign affairs characteristics. At the same time, the introduction of international school-running mechanisms and concepts, the use of humanized management models, and modern teaching methods strive to cultivate foreign language and foreign affairs professionals who can meet the needs of the domestic and international markets.
