Xianning Vocational and Technical College was approved by the People's Government of Hubei Province in April 2003. It was formed by the merger of the original Xianning Education College, Xianning Applied Science and Technology School, Hubei Xianning Finance and Trade Business Management School and Xianning Finance and Taxation School. The school history began in 1965 when the Xianning prefecture was established. The Xianning Branch of Huazhong Agricultural College, the predecessor of Xianning College of Education, was founded in 1976. In 1984, it was designated as the "Hubei Provincial Secondary Vocational Teacher Training Base" by the Provincial People's Government. Education pilot institutions".
