Wuhan Conservatory of Music

Wuhan Conservatory of Music is the only independent higher music institution in central my country. The school is located in the ancient city of Wuchang with a long history and rich culture. The Jiefang Road campus is located at No. 255 Jiefang Road, Wuchang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. The adjacent Binjiang campus is located at No. 1 Zhangzhidong Road, Wuchang District.


   In 1953, the Central South Music College, established by the music part of the Central South Academy of Arts, South China People's College of Literature and Art, and Guangxi Provincial College of Art, was the starting point of Wuhan Conservatory of Music. Looking back from this, the respective predecessors of the music section of the above three schools, the predecessor of the Central South University of Literature and Art, the School of Literature and Art of Central Plains University, and the Wuchang College of Art which took over in 1949, and the School of Literature and Art of Hunan University, which was merged in 1950; constituted South China People’s Literature.
