Hubei Water Conservancy and Hydropower Vocational and Technical College

Hubei Water Conservancy and Hydropower Vocational and Technical College is a public general higher vocational college established in 2002 with the approval of the People's Government of Hubei Province. Over the past 60 years since running the school, it has cultivated and transported more than 40,000 intermediate and senior professional and technical personnel for the country, and has gradually developed into an important national water conservancy and hydropower talent training base, a designated training center for the Ministry of Water Resources, and an industry vocational skill appraisal center. In 2012, it was recognized by the Ministry of Water Resources as the first batch of "National Water Conservancy Higher Vocational Education Demonstration Colleges". It was awarded the "Provincial Safe Campus" by the Provincial Department of Education, and was awarded the honorary title of "The Best Civilized Unit in the Province" by the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government. In 2013, he was awarded the "Hubei May 1st Labor Award" by the Hubei Provincial Federation of Trade Unions.


   The college has two campuses with a total area of 600 acres and more than 8,600 students. The college currently has 430 faculty members, including 242 full-time teachers, 95 full-time teachers, 95 teachers with senior and deputy titles, 1 "Hubei Famous Teacher", and 6 special teaching positions for "Chutian Skilled Teacher" in Hubei Province. The college has 11 functional offices, such as the college office and the party office, and 3 management and service units, including the vocational skills appraisal office, the logistics service center, and the teaching material center. There are 7 teaching departments including the Department of Business Management, Department of Basic Courses, and the Department of Continuing Education; 3 industrial entities including design institutes and supervision companies have been established. The college offers 39 higher vocational majors, including 2 national water conservancy vocational education demonstration majors, 2 Hubei provincial higher vocational education key majors, and 4 provincial key and teaching reform pilot majors. The college currently has 1 national-level quality course, 5 provincial-level quality courses, 2 teaching and guidance committee quality courses, and 5 national and provincial-level training bases.


   The total assets of the college are more than 300 million yuan, of which the total value of teaching equipment is 55 million yuan. The library has a building area of more than 22,000 square meters and a collection of more than 500,000 books. The college takes the initiative to adapt to the market economy situation, adheres to the direction of serving the water conservancy industry, serving the "three rural", and serving regional economic development. It takes service as its purpose, employment-oriented, and aims to cultivate high-quality skilled talents.
