Hubei Academy of Fine Arts is the only higher art institution in Central my country with multiple disciplines and multiple educational levels. The predecessor of the school was Wuchang Art School, founded in 1920, and later named "Private Wuchang Art College" (referred to as Wuchang Art School). As one of the earliest art colleges established in China, our school is an important birthplace of China's modern and modern higher art education. In the history of more than 90 years, it has always upheld the "inclusive" academic spirit and "compatible and interactive" teaching. The philosophy has cultivated generations of outstanding talents who "respect morality, dedication, dexterity, and beauty" to serve the society, and have made unique contributions to the development of China's art industry.
At present, the school has two campuses, Tibet Dragon Island and Tan Hualin, covering an area of more than 700 acres, with more than 8,000 students of all educational levels.
The school has a total of Chinese Painting Department, Oil Painting Department, Printmaking Department, Mural Painting and Comprehensive Material Painting Department, Sculpture Department, Design Department, Fashion Art Design Department, Environmental Art Design Department, Industrial Design Department, Watercolor Painting Department, Fine Arts Department, Animation School, etc. 12 faculties, as well as the basic department of visual arts, public courses, the School of Marxism, and the School of Continuing Education and Training.
The school has three first-level master degree authorization points of fine arts, design, and art theory, as well as Chinese painting, calligraphy, painting, public art, sculpture, visual communication design, photography, film and television photography and production, environmental design, and landscape 21 undergraduate majors and 33 majors in gardens, clothing and apparel design, industrial design, product design, animation, digital media art, drama, film and television art design, art history, art design, fine arts, art education, cultural industry management , And all have the right to confer bachelor's degree. In 2010, the school and other universities signed an agreement on joint training of doctoral students, forming a new pattern for the training of high-level art talents in central my country.
As one of the first batch of 32 professional Master of Arts (MFA) education pilot units in the country, the school currently has 10 people enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, 9 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions from the province, and 16 people enjoying special allowances from the provincial government. The school actively participates in academic exchanges at home and abroad. We hire famous Chinese and foreign artists as guest professors and special lecturers of the school. Teachers are selected to go abroad for academic visits and research every year, and long-term academic cooperation has been established with some foreign art colleges.
