The Sports Science and Technology College of Wuhan Institute of Physical Education was founded in 2003. It is a full-time undergraduate sports independent college approved by the Hubei Provincial Department of Education and reviewed by the Ministry of Education. The college is located at No. 1, Huandao Road, Canglong Island Science and Technology Park, Jiangxia District, Wuhan City, with beautiful scenery and convenient transportation, making it an ideal place for study and life. As of the end of the 12th Five-Year Plan period, the college campus covers an area of 543 acres, with a school building area of more than 210,000 square meters, teaching equipment worth nearly 25 million yuan, and a collection of more than 300,000 paper books and more than 500 paper periodicals.

The professional construction of the college is developing rapidly. During the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, nine new majors have been added, including English, dance, leisure sports, Internet and new media, sports rehabilitation, cultural industry management, broadcasting and hosting art, preschool education, radio and television choreography, etc., forming a comprehensive education , Art, Economics, Management, Science, Literature and other 6 disciplines, 13 undergraduate majors and 1 junior college. Five of the undergraduate majors have been granted the right to confer bachelor's degrees. In 2013, the physical education major was approved as a pilot project for the "Professional Comprehensive Reform" of undergraduate universities in Hubei Province.
In recent years, the college has been guided by the "quality project", with the reform of the talent training plan and the reform of the course examination as the starting point, systematically promoted the talent training plan and the revision of the syllabus, the construction of special classes, postgraduate entrance examination classes, the reform of the examination evaluation system, and the construction of teaching and research sections. Upon graduation, they will be awarded a graduation certificate from the School of Sports Science and Technology of Wuhan Institute of Physical Education.
