Wuhan Civil Affairs Vocational College was established in 1986. It was approved by the People's Government of Hubei Province in April 2004, filed by the Ministry of Education, and upgraded to a higher vocational college. The school is affiliated to the Civil Affairs Department of Hubei Province and is the only public full-time general higher vocational college in the civil affairs industry in Hubei. The school was established by the Ministry of Civil Affairs as a social work and senior care service talent training center and a "elderly care worker" vocational skill appraisal training base, and was elected as a member unit of the presidium of the China Senior Care Industry Education Alliance; it is the chairman of the "Hubei Provincial Funeral Career Promotion Association" Unit"; was designated by the Provincial Organization Office as "Hubei Province Vocational Education and Skills Training Guidance Center for Demobilized Veterans" and "Hubei Province Civil Affairs Cadre Training Center".
The school is located in the central city of Wuhan. The campus is adjacent to the "Wuhan•Optics Valley of China", sitting on Fuhu Mountain, overlooking the South Lake, with lush trees and scattered architectural patterns. It was rated as a "garden-style school". The school covers an area of more than 210,000 square meters, the school building area is more than 100,000 square meters, the total value of fixed assets is 160 million yuan, and the total value of teaching equipment is more than 16 million yuan.
