Wuhan Institute of Engineering and Technology (formerly Jiangcheng College of China University of Geosciences) was founded in February 2004. It is a full-time general undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. In May 2014, the Ministry of Education approved the transformation of the school and changed its name to Wuhan Institute of Engineering and Technology. In September 2014, the school became the first batch of applied talent training pilot universities in Hubei Province.
