Hubei Second Normal University is located in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, which is a thoroughfare of nine provinces. The predecessor of the school was the Hubei Provincial Institute of Education, founded in 1931. Hubei Provincial Industrial School and Hubei Provincial Economic Management Cadre College were merged in 2003 and 2009 as a whole. In 2007, Hubei Second Normal College was established on the basis of Hubei Institute of Education, setting a precedent for the transformation of provincial education college into a general undergraduate college.
