Hubei Institute of Technology is an ordinary college of higher learning focusing on work and cultivating applied talents. It is located in Huangshi City, Hubei Province, the cradle of modern Chinese national industry. The school was established in 1975 and opened an undergraduate program in 1977. It has gone through the running stages of Huangshi Higher Engineering Class of Hubei Provincial Colleges and Universities, Wuhan Institute of Technology (Huangshi Branch), and Huangshi College of Technology. It was upgraded to Huangshi Institute of Technology in 2004 and established in 2010.
