Hunan Geely Automobile Vocational and Technical College is a full-time general higher vocational college approved by the People’s Government of Hunan Province and filed by the Ministry of Education. Talent training base designated by the China Automotive Engineering Society. The college is located in the National Two-Oriented Society Construction Demonstration Zone, the core area of Chang-Zhu-Tan integration in Hunan, Jiuhua National Economic and Technological Development Zone. The college is located in the center of the new automotive world, surrounded by the Huayan Automobile R&D Center in cooperation with Shanghai Jiaotong University, the Changzhutan F2 International Racing Cultural Industrial Park, and the Geely high-end brand Lingke project. The area where the college is located integrates automobile education, automobile research and development, racing competition, automobile culture, and luxury car experience. It is a real automobile kingdom.
The college was founded in 2012. The first phase of the plan covers an area of 700 acres, with all kinds of teaching and daily life facilities. Over the years, the college has given full play to the advantages of enterprises in running schools, selecting and training people according to the needs of auto companies and industries. The college adheres to the policy of opening schools and allows companies to participate in the entire process of talent training. The college’s professional settings, curriculum settings, training standards, and practical teaching are all agreed by the school and the enterprise. The professional courses are taught by the company’s first-line engineers. The school-enterprise dual-hosted sportsman model enables seamless connection between what students learn and the needs of the enterprise, ensuring the teaching effect.
The college takes the moral education as the school motto, and the moral education is the top priority. It has innovated gratitude education, labor education, inspirational education and innovation and entrepreneurship education, and tried out the trinity of civic moral education, professional quality training and vocational skills education. Since its establishment, the number of new students has continued to grow rapidly each year. In 2014, 473 new students were admitted, 777 new students were admitted in 2015, the number of new students in 2016 exceeded 1,000, and the number of new students in 2017 continued to increase. The current number of students in the college is more than 3,000. In the context of rapid student growth, the college has always attached great importance to the construction of an employment security system, and initially established a triple employment platform for Geely employment, industry employment and independent entrepreneurship.
