Shaoyang Vocational and Technical College

Shaoyang Vocational and Technical College was established in 2003 by the merger of the original Shaoyang Economic and Trade School (1952), Shaoyang Mechanical and Electrical Engineering School (1979) and Shaoyang Agricultural School (1957). It was approved by the Hunan Provincial People’s Government. Full-time general higher vocational colleges filed by the Ministry of Education and sponsored by the Shaoyang Municipal People's Government. The college covers an area of 426,880 square meters, with a total construction area of 203,565 square meters. There are currently 390 faculty members and 7,468 enrolled students.


The college has elevator engineering college, automobile and intelligent manufacturing college, information technology and creativity department, finance and accounting department, biological engineering department, architectural engineering department, five-year college department, public courses department, ideological and political education department, continuing education and training The college has four departments, three colleges and three departments. In 2016, it became one of the first batch of "Hunan Provincial Enterprise Talent Training Demonstration Bases". In 2017, it was awarded the "Hunan Provincial New-type Vocational Farmer Training Demonstration Base" by the Provincial Agriculture Committee and the "Hunan Provincial SME Training Demonstration Base" by the Provincial Economic and Information Commission. There are 2 provincial-level education reform pilot majors, 1 provincial-level fine major, 1 provincial-level characteristic major, 1 special fund-supported construction major by the Provincial Economic and Information Commission, and 7 college-level characteristic majors. There are training buildings, automobile training centers, construction training centers, elevator training centers, robot training centers, mobile internet application development training rooms, and 68 off-campus training and practice bases with companies. Carry out high-tech computer, Mandarin, English, electrician, fitter, turner, draftsman and other skills appraisal examinations.   The college pays attention to the integration of production and education in school-enterprise cooperation. In 2016, the college cooperated with the world's top 500 company Schindler Elevator Co., Ltd. to establish the Elevator Engineering College and Central China Elevator Training Base, and hired Li Zhihong, Schindler Elevator China’s school-enterprise cooperation director, as the dean to implement corporate management and strengthen students Physical Training. The company provides the latest elevator equipment and teaching modules. In 2017, the college cooperated with Guangdong Ruichang Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Development Co., Ltd. to establish the Automobile and Intelligent Manufacturing College. The company provided equipment worth 10 million yuan, and built a robot training center with the college, and sent special personnel to teach and maintain . Implement the "integration of industry and education", "integration of learning and doing", "integration of workshops and classrooms", "integration of teachers and masters", "integration of school-enterprise culture", and "integration of school-enterprise development" of "dual subject and six integration" 1.
