College was founded in 1975 and has gone through the periods of Henan Coal Mine School, Jiaozuo Coal Industry School, Henan Engineering and Technology School, and Henan University of Technology Higher Vocational College. In March 2013, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the approval of the Henan Provincial People's Government, the Henan Vocational College of Industry and Information Technology was established on the basis of the separation from Henan University of Technology.
