Luohe Vocational and Technical College is a general public higher vocational college approved by the Ministry of Education in 1999. It is the first batch of provincial demonstration higher vocational colleges supported by the Provincial Department of Education and the construction unit of Henan Province Vocational Education Characteristic Colleges .
The facilities are complete. Covering an area of 387,000 square meters, with a building area of 265,000 square meters, it has a comprehensive computer center building, a speech building, a music building, and an art gallery, 2 engineering training buildings, 8 teaching buildings, 17 dormitories, and 3 large restaurants. There are 1 library, 2 training bases supported by the central government, 4 provincial-level demonstration training base construction projects, and 293 practice training bases inside and outside the school. The college attaches great importance to building a campus culture with characteristics of higher vocational colleges, and the micro-film has become a leading brand in the construction of campus culture in higher vocational colleges in the country. In June 2015, the micro film "Dragon Osmanthus Fragrance" won one of the 20 "Excellent Works Award" out of 500 entries in the National University Student Micro Film Competition hosted by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League. The college guides students to actively participate in various professional skills competitions and has repeatedly achieved good results in national professional skills competitions. In the two "Luban Cup" architectural engineering drawing skills competitions for civil engineering and construction majors in higher vocational colleges, the students of the Department of Construction Engineering won the first prize of the team competition for two consecutive times.
