The history of the college can be traced back to the Pingdingshan Coal Mine School founded in 1956 by the former Ministry of Coal Industry. In 2001, Pingdingshan Vocational and Technical College of Industry was formally established after being filed by the Ministry of Education and approved by the People's Government of Henan Province. Since its establishment, the school has successively trained and sent more than 200,000 graduates of various types to the society, radiating across the country, covering all walks of life in society, and most of them have become the backbone of their industries and units.
