Henan Medical College is a general medical school established on the basis of Henan Health Workers College and approved by the People's Government of Henan Province. It was officially registered by the Ministry of Education in May 2013. The school was founded in 1952, formerly the Henan Provincial Health Cadre School, which undertakes the training of medical and health personnel and general secondary medical education in the province; it was upgraded to Henan Health Workers College in 1984, and the Henan Workers Medical College brand was added in 1993 to undertake adult specialists Medical education: In 2002, with the approval of the Henan Provincial Department of Education, it began to enroll general college students and undertake the task of general college medical education.
School is an important part of Henan medical higher education resources. There are two campuses in the north and south. The south campus is located in Nanlonghu Livable Education Park, Zhengzhou City; the north campus is located in Jinshui District, Zhengzhou City. The school covers an area of 1196 acres, with a total building area of 390,800 square meters and a total fixed asset value of more than 600 million yuan. The school’s faculty has a reasonable structure, strong faculty, beautiful environment, convenient transportation and complete facilities.
The school focuses on general junior college education and offers adult junior college education. At present, there are teaching units such as the Department of Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Medical Technology, Ideological and Political Education and Research, Public Basic Department, Basic Medicine Department, Sports Department, and Continuing Education Department, offering clinical medicine, nursing, rehabilitation treatment technology, There are 20 majors (directions) in medical nutrition, pharmacy, pharmaceutical preparation technology, food and drug supervision and management, medical inspection technology, medical imaging technology, medical cosmetology technology, and eye optics technology. The nursing major was rated as a special professional construction project by the Provincial Department of Education, the nursing (elderly nursing) major was approved as one of the first batch of national vocational colleges and elder care service demonstration majors, and the nursing training base was approved as the national nursing demonstration training base. The majors of clinical medicine, medical laboratory technology, medical imaging technology, and pharmacy were rated as pilot majors of comprehensive reform in higher education institutions in Henan Province.
The school has basic laboratories, clinical skills training centers, and 135 professional experimental training rooms. It has a directly affiliated hospital, 60 non-directly affiliated hospitals and other internship training bases. The library has 1.012 million paper books, an electronic library, a library of Chinese and foreign periodicals, and an electronic resource database. The affiliated hospital is planned to be built as a tertiary general hospital, with 1,500 designed beds, and currently 520 beds are open in the first phase. Approved by the Henan Provincial Department of Health, the "Second People's Hospital of Henan Province" brand was added in 2008.
At the same time, the school is a dozen or so provincial and ministerial training bases including Henan Provincial Health Vocational Education Center, Henan Health Personnel Training Center, Henan General Practice Training Center, and Henan Provincial Clinical Skills Training Center. It has established the National Vocational Skills Appraisal Institute and the Henan Branch of the Vocational Skills Appraisal Guidance Center of the Ministry of Health.
