Henan Police College

Henan Police College is the only provincial public security undergraduate college in our province. Its predecessor was the CCP’s Western Henan District Committee Security Cadre Training Course established in February 1949. It has experienced Henan Public Security Cadre School, Henan People’s Police School, Henan Public Security College Waiting period. In March 2010, the Henan Police College was established with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In August 2012, Kaifeng Police Academy and Luoyang Police Academy were merged into Henan Police Academy. Passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment by the Ministry of Education in November 2019. Beginning in 2021, it will cooperate with Henan Normal University to train graduate students in law (police direction).


The college is an important part of the province’s public security organs. It is the main channel for transporting Henan's new public security forces, the main position for on-the-job police training, the main platform for public security think tank research, and the new force for major security activities. It is known as "the cradle of police officers in the Central Plains." . There are 5784 full-time students in the college, and an average of 16,000 police officers are trained annually. The college currently has 782 faculty members, including 182 with senior and deputy senior professional and technical positions, 388 with doctorate and master’s degrees, experts enjoying special allowances from the State Council, legal advisers to the Henan Provincial Party Committee, outstanding experts from Henan Province, and middle-level experts in Henan Province. There are 71 young jurists, famous teaching teachers of the Ministry of Public Security, and famous teaching teachers of colleges and universities in Henan Province.


The college sets up 12 undergraduate majors and 5 majors in 8 departments including investigation and public security, covering four first-level disciplines of law, public security, public security technology, and psychology. Among them, there are 2 national-level first-class undergraduate majors (network security and Law Enforcement, Public Security), 5 provincial-level first-class undergraduate majors, and first-rate majors account for 56% of the enrollment majors. There are 1 national high-quality resource sharing course, 10 provincial-level first-class undergraduate courses, 3 provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, 10 provincial-level excellent grass-roots teaching organizations, 5 provincial-level teaching achievement awards, and provincial-level teaching competition awards There are 43 items, and all the 7 core school-running indicators of the college in 2020 are qualified.


The college currently has 2 provincial-level key disciplines (Public Security Studies, Investigation Studies). There are many provincial and department-level scientific research platforms, including the key research base of humanities and social sciences in colleges and universities in the province-the Central Plains Public Security Research Center, and more than 200 national and provincial scientific research projects have been completed. The Provincial Public Security Department established the Henan Police Strategy Research Center in the college as a Henan Public Security Think Tank. The research results of the center have received affirmative approval from provincial leaders many times. 11 first-class scientific research teams including the Yellow River Basin Eco-environmental Crime Research Team have been established, which have become the "most powerful brains" serving public security decision-making.


Since the establishment of academic education in 1978, the college has trained and transported more than 40,000 graduates for the public security team in the province. Ren Changxia, the most beautiful struggler in New China, is a model of college graduates. In recent years, it has completed more than 10 major security tasks such as the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and has been recorded by the Ministry of Public Security and the Provincial Public Security Department 4 times of collective second-class merit and 1 collective third-class merit. As a police practice training base of the Ministry of Public Security, it undertook the national traffic police system actual combat training competition, 7 sessions of international law enforcement personnel training missions of the Ministry of Public Security, and went to Uruguay to carry out foreign aid training.


The college currently has three campuses, located in Zhengzhou, Kaifeng and Luoyang, covering a total area of more than 1,690 acres. There are 42 on-campus experiment and training rooms, 46 off-campus practice and training bases, and a collection of more than 1.1 million paper books. The college is a provincial civilized campus and a provincial safe campus.
