Luoyang Normal University is a provincial general higher undergraduate college located in Luoyang, the Millennium Imperial Capital, Peony Flower City, and the starting point of the Silk Road. The school is located on the shore of Yishui River, under the Wan'an Mountain, and Taixue of the Eastern Han Dynasty originated here. The predecessor of the school was Heluo Normal School, which was founded in 1916. It has gone through the stages of Henan Provincial Heluo Normal School, Henan Provincial Fourth Normal School, Henan Provincial Luoyang Normal School, Luoyang Teachers College, and Luoyang Normal College. In 2000, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and named as its current name. In 2007, the school passed the evaluation of the undergraduate teaching level of the Ministry of Education with good results.
