Heilongjiang Transportation Vocational and Technical College is a public higher vocational college directly under the Provincial Department of Education. The college was founded in 1946. In 2014, it became the first batch of outstanding backbone higher vocational colleges in Heilongjiang Province. In 2017, it became the project construction unit of high-level higher vocational colleges in Heilongjiang Province.
The college’s railway major has distinctive features. It is the only railway operation vocational college in Heilongjiang Province and one of the most complete railway professional vocational colleges in my country. The comprehensive railway professional strength and the training scale of railway professional talents are among the same in the country. Vocational colleges rank in the forefront. More than 50,000 graduates have been trained over the past 70 years since running the school, and a large number of specialized talents have been sent to the development of my country's railway industry.
The college runs a relatively large scale, with 3 campuses in Harbin and Qiqihar. There are now 17 majors, of which railway locomotives, railway vehicles, railway power supply technology, railway traffic operation management majors are listed as high-level construction majors in Heilongjiang Province. There are currently 10468 students in general higher vocational schools. At the same time, it has jointly organized distance teaching with Beijing Jiaotong University and has become the modern distance education teaching center of Beijing Jiaotong University. There are more than 5,000 network college and undergraduate education students.
The college has a strong faculty. There are 422 full-time teachers, including 136 professors and associate professors, and 38% of teachers with a master's degree. There are 3 national rail transit vocational education teachers and 3 provincial-level teaching teachers.
The college’s training base is complete. There are 105 on-campus training bases and training rooms, including comprehensive railway drills, electrified railway drills, simulated driving of railway locomotives, automatic train operation control, railway signal equipment maintenance, railway engineering, etc. The on-campus training base is in an advanced position in the national railway vocational colleges. The college has strengthened cooperation with various railway bureaus and other enterprises across the country, and has built 89 off-campus training bases, which can meet the needs of students for internship training.
The college deepens school-enterprise cooperation, and actively explores the integration of production and education, and collaborative education models. About 80% of students implement order training and apprenticeship training. The college implements paramilitary management and strengthens both moral and technical training. Graduates have won praise from employers for their strong application ability and high overall quality. In recent years, the employment rate of graduates has remained above 95%, of which more than 75% are employed by large state-owned enterprises such as railways, and a number of outstanding graduates have emerged. 62 graduates have won the "Locomotive Medal" or advanced individuals of the Railway Administration.
