Heilongjiang Oriental University

Heilongjiang Oriental College is the first private general higher education institution in Heilongjiang Province after the reform and opening up. It was founded in 1992 by older educators such as Meng Xin, Shang Hexiang, Zhou Changyuan, and Liu Shiqin.


  


The college began to enroll full-time college students in 1993; it began to enroll undergraduates in 2000, and was granted the right to confer bachelor's degrees in 2007; in 2010, it was designated as a “special application-oriented undergraduate pilot construction college” by the Heilongjiang Provincial Government; October 2011 In September, approved by the Academic Degree Office of the State Council, it became one of the first 5 private colleges in the country with the qualifications for master's degree postgraduate training; passed the qualification evaluation of undergraduate teaching work by the Ministry of Education in 2012; was elected as the National Non-profit Private University Alliance in 2013 Vice-chairman unit; In 2014, it became one of the first 35 member colleges of the University of Applied Technology Alliance; in September 2015, the college successfully completed the acceptance of the project of "Special Application-oriented Undergraduate College Construction" of the Provincial Department of Education. The college is located at No. 1, Hanan 19th Road, Hanan Industrial New Town, Harbin New District, a national new area. The campus covers an area of 703,000 square meters, with a building area of 328,000 square meters, of which 155,000 square meters are used for teaching, research and auxiliary buildings. Meters, the administrative area is 24,000 square meters, and the student dormitory area is 109,000 square meters. By the end of 2017, the net assets have reached 1.33 billion yuan, of which the total value of teaching and research equipment is 68.67 million yuan. The college has ample sports grounds, including 52,000 square meters of sports grounds and 15,000 square meters of gymnasiums, including basketball, badminton, table tennis, swimming, fitness and other venues. The total area of the library is 30,000 square meters. There are currently 1.25 million paper books, 7610 paper periodicals, 23 data, and more than 1.91 million e-books. The construction of the digital campus has achieved remarkable results, and the campus "all-in-one card" has been realized, providing students with a superior learning environment and living conditions.


   The college has 7 disciplines, including science, engineering, literature, law, economics, management, and art, and 41 undergraduate majors. It has formed 7 professional groups focusing on engineering, combining economics and management, and the coordinated development of humanities and arts. It has two master's degree authorization points in food engineering and international business, 1 provincial-level key construction discipline, 1 provincial-level key professional, 9 advantageous specialty majors, 1 provincial-level excellent course, and 39 school-level core courses; 1 There are 6 national engineering practice education centers and 6 institute-level experimental demonstration centers.


   The college currently has 12 teaching units and 11,866 full-time students, including 11,818 undergraduates, 29 postgraduates with master's degrees, and 19 international students. The college is a typical college with graduate employment experience in the country. Since its establishment, the college has trained 37,689 graduates of all levels and types. The employment rate of undergraduate graduates from 2014 to 2016 ranks among the top 5 colleges and universities in the province for three consecutive years. A group of "applied", "composite" and "innovative" talents cultivated by the college who are active in the production line are well received by employers and praised by the society.


The college has formed a team of full-time and part-time teachers with high comprehensive quality and strong professional ability. As of the end of the 2016-2017 school year, there were 679 full-time teachers, including 360 full-time middle-aged and young teachers and 319 full-time senior teachers; teachers with master's degree There are 463 teachers, 86 teachers with doctoral degree; 90 teachers with senior professional titles and 275 teachers with deputy senior professional titles. The college has 1 national excellent teacher, 2 provincial excellent teachers, 73 full-time double-innovation teachers, 30 experimental technicians, and 11 foreign teachers who are employed to teach in the school all year round.
