Harbin Institute of Finance

Harbin Institute of Finance is located in the ice city of Harbin. It was founded in 1950. It has experienced several histories including Northeast Bank Heilongjiang Branch Cadre Training Course, People’s Bank of China Qiqihar Cadre School, Heilongjiang Bank School, Harbin Finance College, Harbin Finance College, etc. During the period, it was my country’s first financial college approved by the State Council. It was originally affiliated to the head office of the People's Bank of China. After the reform of the management system of higher education in 2000, it was changed to a joint construction between the central and local governments, with local management as the mainstay. In April 2010, approved by the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded to Harbin Institute of Finance.


  The college now covers an area of 642,900 square meters, with a school building area of 301,600 square meters. The library has a collection of more than 1.26 million paper books; the total capacity of electronic resources is more than 42,000 GB, including more than 600,000 e-books and 24 types of data resource libraries. A collection resource system with complete document types and outstanding financial characteristics has been preliminarily formed. There are 165 multimedia classrooms, 39 laboratories of various types, 12 language laboratories, and more than 90 off-campus practice bases. The practical teaching conditions have reached the first-class level of similar institutions in China.


   has a team of teachers with reasonable academic qualifications, professional titles, age structure, and strong teaching, scientific research and social service capabilities. There are 665 faculty members, including 428 full-time teachers, 392 full-time teachers have a master's degree or above, accounting for 91.59% of full-time teachers; 66 full-time teachers are senior vocational teachers, 124 associate senior vocational teachers, and senior professional title teachers Accounted for 44.39% of full-time teachers. There are 5 provincial-level outstanding teachers and 7 provincial-level teaching teachers. 1 national-level young and middle-aged expert who has made outstanding contributions, and 2 enjoy the special government allowance of the State Council.


   The college currently has more than 10,000 full-time students, has 10 teaching departments, and has 22 undergraduate majors and 7 junior majors covering five disciplines: economics, management, literature, law, and engineering. Among them, the discipline of finance was rated as a key construction discipline of Heilongjiang Province in the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan"; finance (undergraduate) and financial management and practice (diploma) are provincial key majors; accounting (financial accounting direction) is a national professional teaching Reform pilot majors and national-level quality majors; financial management and practice, securities investment and management two specialties, professional teaching reform pilot majors in Heilongjiang Province. The college has 1 provincial-level talent training model innovation experimental zone, 9 provincial-level quality courses, and 2 provincial-level excellent teaching teams. He has been awarded the titles of "Advanced Group for Research and Management of Key Subjects of Educational Reform of the Ministry of Education", "Advanced Group for Research and Management of Key Subjects of Educational Reform of Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education", and "Advanced Group for Research and Management of Course-type Subjects in Heilongjiang Colleges and Universities".


  The college attaches great importance to and is committed to improving the academic level of scientific research. In the past five years, a total of 1,382 academic papers have been published, 386 scientific research projects at or above the provincial level have been approved, 38 monographs have been published, 324 teaching materials have been published, and 17 scientific research awards have been awarded at the provincial level or above. The College's "Financial Theory and Teaching" is one of the earliest financial journals in the country. It is publicly distributed at home and abroad and enjoys a high reputation in the society. There are four research institutes including accounting, finance, investment insurance, legal consulting offices, and information engineering research and development centers. The establishment of the Association of Colleges and Social Sciences, the establishment of the Heilongjiang Provincial Association of Investment Theory, and the establishment of Heilongjiang Province’s financial theory A base for academic exchanges with innovative research and social sciences.


The college recruits students from 30 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across the country, and has trained more than 50,000 graduates for the country.
