The predecessor of Qiannan National Early Childhood Teachers College was Guiding Normal School of Qiannan Prefecture. It was founded in 1952. In 1978, it was designated as the key normal school of Guizhou Province by the People’s Government of Guizhou Province. In 1988, it was rated as one of the top 100 national schools by the Ministry of Education. Normal school, awarded by the provincial government in 1997 as a "double-qualified school for school running conditions and school level."
