Qiannan National Medical College was established in November 1985. It is a full-time general college approved by the Ministry of Education. It is the first batch of reform pilot institutions for the "Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program" by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health. The school has two campuses, Yungong and Daping. The Yungong campus is located in Duyun City, the "National Excellent Tourism City". The campus covers an area of 400 acres. The new campus is located in the Duyun Economic Development Zone. It covers an area of 1,350 acres. The first phase covers an area of 850 acres. . The school’s existing teaching equipment is worth more than 72 million yuan, including 499,000 paper books and 450,000 electronic books. There are 513 faculty members, of which 399 are full-time teachers, 133 are associate professors or above, and 121 are masters or above.
The school consists of the Department of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory, Medical Imaging Technology, Basic Medicine, Public Course Teaching, Clinical Skills Training Center, Higher Education and Adult Continuing Education and other teaching departments. Mainly carry out three-year junior college, five-year consistent junior high school, secondary vocational education, adult continuing education, and medical vocational skills training and appraisal.
There are 9 enrollment majors in clinical medicine, nursing, pharmacy, traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese medicine pharmaceutical technology, medical laboratory technology, medical imaging technology, stomatology technology, drug management and management, and recruit students from 24 provinces (cities, autonomous regions) across the country. There are more than 11,000 students in total, including 9,700 full-time students. The annual employment rate of graduates is above 92%, and nearly 40,000 medical and health professionals have been sent to the society.
The school undertakes 1 teaching reform project of the Ministry of Education, 2 majors supported by the Ministry of Finance, 2 special provincial-level majors, 3 provincial-level quality courses, 4 provincial-level laboratories; there are national, provincial, and state-level laboratories. There are 7 training bases, 2 third-A affiliated hospitals, and 82 teaching practice bases. The Science Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the Guizhou Province Excellent Campus Culture Education Base of the 3rd Guizhou Province Campus Culture Construction Outstanding Achievement Award. The school has established friendly cooperative relations with more than 10 first-class medical schools, including Peking University School of Medicine, Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Taiwan Sun Yat-sen University of Medicine. Since 2014, 3 and 18 students have come to Canada and Taiwan Zhongshan Medical University for exchange and study.
In recent years, 1 teacher won the second place in the second Guizhou Province College Young Teacher Teaching Competition, and 1 counselor won the second prize and the best blog post award in the "Guizhou Province Second College Counselor Professional Ability Competition" , 2 teachers were awarded the second and third prizes of Qiannan Prefecture Science and Technology Progress Award. Many students from the school have won the first, second and third prizes of the Provincial Nursing Skills Competition and the National Nursing Skills Competition Trial for many times, and represented Guizhou in participating in the National Nursing Skills Competition. In 2015, he won the first prize of the province's college students' on-site knowledge contest of the Constitution, the first prize of the Guizhou Division of the 4th National Aerobics Dance Competition, and the first prize of the 10th Guizhou University Student Micro-Video Competition.
