Zunyi Medical College

The predecessor of Zunyi Medical College was the Zunyi Health School founded in 1956 and the Zunyi Traditional Chinese Medicine School in 1986. The two state-level key secondary vocational schools were merged and upgraded with the approval of the Ministry of Education in February 2006 to form the Zunyi Medical College. In 2015, the school was relocated as a whole to the University Town of Xinpu New District, Zunyi City. The new campus has a total investment of 2.3 billion yuan, covering an area of 1,394 acres and a building area of 598,600 square meters. There are currently more than 14,000 students in the school, with 6 departments, 2 teaching departments (hospitals), and 26 majors (including directions). Among them, Chinese medicine, acupuncture and massage, clinical medicine, stomatology, and preventive medicine are nationally controlled majors. Nursing and medical imaging technology majors are key majors supported by the Ministry of Finance. Traditional Chinese medicine is a key construction major of the central government with awards. The majors of Chinese medicine and nursing have been approved as the provincial open training base construction project in Guizhou.
