Qiannan Teachers College for Nationalities

Qiannan Normal University for Nationalities is located in the capital of Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province (Qiannan Prefecture for short) and an excellent tourist city in China-Duyun City. It is the first place in Guizhou Province that was established in March 2000 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. Colleges and universities, the history of the school can be traced back to 1952. The school was awarded the right to confer bachelor's degree in 2004; passed the undergraduate teaching level assessment of the Ministry of Education in 2007 with the grade of "good"; in 2011, it was approved as a postgraduate training unit for the master of education; National Teacher Training Program" Demonstrative Concentrated Training Project College; In 2014, it was established as a provincial academician workstation; In 2014, it joined the National University of Applied Technology (College) Alliance and became one of the 20 transformational development case colleges of the Ministry of Education. The school covers an area of 943,200 square meters, with an area of 64.66 square meters per student; the total area of school buildings is 457,400 square meters, the campus environment is elegant, quiet and beautiful, integrating practicality, versatility, ethnicity and modern characteristics; total teaching equipment The value is 119,174,600 yuan, the library has a total of 1.37 million paper books and documents, more than 8,000 Chinese and foreign periodicals, and 1.68 million e-books. The school focuses on teacher education and actively develops non-teacher education; it offers postgraduate education, undergraduate education, minority preparatory education, and foreign student education, etc., forming distinct school-running characteristics of teacher-oriented, ethnic, local, and application-oriented.


The school recruits students from 28 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across the country. Minority classes and minority preparatory courses are only recruited in Guizhou Province. For candidates who are admitted by our school for the first time in parallel volunteering and have excellent college entrance examination results, the school will provide scholarships after enrollment (see our school’s admissions regulations for details). The school makes full use of the resources of scientific research institutes at home and abroad to actively carry out teacher assistance, student exchanges, professional co-construction and other forms of cooperation in running schools, and provide counterpart assistance with East China Normal University, Chongqing University, Guangzhou University, and Guizhou University; Cooperate with 9 universities in Taiwan to exchange students and send teachers, and implement the "Thousand Students Study Abroad" program with Southeast Asian universities. Since the second half of 2017, 28 students have been selected every year to exchange and study at Guangzhou University. In the past three years, a total of 200 students have been sent to Thailand, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong for exchange and study. At the same time, the school has also trained more than 200 international students from the United States, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan and other countries.


The school currently has 17 secondary colleges including the School of Literature and Media, 58 undergraduate majors, affiliated to ten disciplines including literature, science, education, law, economics, history, management, engineering, art, and agriculture. In addition, there are 14 majors for enrolling masters in education, with 950 faculty members, including 764 full-time teachers, 465 full-time teachers with senior professional titles, and more than 80% of teachers with master's degree and doctorate. There are 42 national and provincial level teaching, scientific research, and engineering center platforms and a number of national and provincial research bases. In recent years, the average employment rate of undergraduate graduates has been above 95%, and the employment rate of postgraduates has reached 100%.
