Guizhou Normal University is located in Wudang District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. It is a provincial full-time general undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. The predecessor of the school was Guizhou Education College, which was founded in 1978. In March 2009, approved by the Ministry of Education, it was restructured into a full-time general undergraduate college and renamed as Guizhou Normal University; in September of the same year, it began to enroll full-time general undergraduate students. In December 2012, he was awarded the qualification of bachelor degree. In November 2015, it successfully passed the qualification assessment of undergraduate teaching work by the Ministry of Education. In 2016, the school was added as a master's degree awarding construction unit in the "13th Five-Year Plan" of Guizhou Province.
The school covers an area of 779,622.76 square meters (1169 acres), with a school building area of 421,628.90 square meters; the total value of teaching and research equipment assets is 127,197,500 yuan.
