Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was founded in 1965. Since its establishment, the school has been adhering to the school motto of "Honesty and ambition, and dedication to learning", and the school philosophy of "development first, quality first, innovation as the source, and cultivating talents for use". The development of traditional Chinese medicine, ethnic medicine and its industries serves the national and regional economic and social development, helps fight poverty, and builds a well-off society in an all-round way. The school adheres to the path of characteristic development, and has now become a Chinese medicine institution of higher learning with traditional Chinese medicine as the mainstay, multi-disciplinary support, relatively complete levels of education, and integration of teaching, scientific research and medical treatment. Postgraduate education began in 1978, and was granted the right to confer a master's degree in 1981. It was one of the first units with a master's degree authorized by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council.


In 2005, the school was approved as a key university supported by Guizhou Province. In 2007, it was rated as an "excellent" university in the evaluation of undergraduate teaching work. In 2016, it became a university jointly established by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the People's Government of Guizhou Province, and passed smoothly in the same year. The undergraduate teaching review and evaluation of the Ministry of Education and the professional certification of Chinese medicine and Chinese pharmacy were awarded the "Civilized Campus" in Guizhou Province. In 2017, it was approved as a qualified institution for "recommending outstanding undergraduates to study for master's degree without examination". In 2018, it was renamed Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine approved by the Ministry of Education.


The school has two campuses, Huaxi and Jiaxiu, covering an area of more than 1,600 acres.
