Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, founded in 1958, was originally named Guizhou College of Finance and Economics. In 2012, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to change its current name. It is a key construction of Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government to train economic management talents in Guizhou Province. Professor Hong Yinxing, a well-known economist, winner of the "Sun Yefang Economics Award" and former party secretary of Nanjing University, served as the Honorary President of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics.
