Wuzhou Medical College is a full-time general college approved by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Ministry of Education in April 2020. It is the first private medical college in Eastern Guidong. Since its establishment, it has received strong support from the Party Committee and Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the Wuzhou Municipal Committee and Government, and has been listed as a key project of the autonomous region and the "No. 1 Project" of the Wuzhou Municipal Government. The school took less than two years from signing the contract to landing, from the start of construction to the start of school last year, and now it has been built into a smart, ecological and beautiful modern university campus.
The school is located in Wuzhou, a famous historical and cultural city and known as the Green City and Water Capital. It faces Canghai Lake in the east, Xijiang Airport in the west, and the South High-speed Railway Station in the north. The transportation is very convenient. The school is built on the mountain and next to the lake. The garden is lush and lush, forming a unique four-season scenery; the red brick and blue tiled sunny restaurant, office building, teaching building, and laboratory building form a unique landmark building group, which has become Wuzhou’s City business card.
The school relies on the first private medical undergraduate university in the country, Changsha Medical College, which has been running for more than 30 years. It adheres to the school philosophy of "high starting point, high quality, and high grade". It is constructed in accordance with the standards of undergraduate schools and plans to be upgraded within 5 years. It covers an area of 1665 mu, and the current phase one construction area is 160,000 square meters. There are 376 full-time teachers, including 271 full-time teachers with "dual qualifications", 34 professors, 92 associate professors, and 33.51% of teachers with senior professional titles; 100% of full-time teachers with a bachelor degree or above, including more than 40 teachers with a master's degree or a doctoral degree %. The school adheres to the strategy of strengthening the school with talents and attaches great importance to the construction of the teaching staff. By the end of July, there will be more than 500 full-time teachers, and the master-both ratio will reach 50%. To benchmark undergraduate colleges and universities to build 11 student experimental training centers, and purchase nearly 30 million yuan in teaching and research equipment for the first phase. There are more than 600,000 paper books and e-books. Set up 2 directly affiliated hospitals of Grade A, 2 teaching hospitals of Grade A, and more than 20 teaching bases and employment bases. This year the school will invest 250 million yuan in new infrastructure such as student apartments, teacher apartments, gymnasiums, academic exchange centers, and entrepreneurship streets to provide teachers and students with a more convenient and high-quality learning and living environment.
The school takes serving the country's economic and social development as its mission, actively integrates into Guangxi's health industry, and aims to cultivate high-quality applied and skilled medical talents. There are 10 specialties in clinical medicine, nursing, pharmacy, medical laboratory technology, traditional Chinese medicine health care, traditional Chinese medicine, midwifery, elderly health care and management, infant nursery service and management, and optometry technology. It is planned to open 26 majors by 2024, forming a group of advantageous disciplines with medicine as the main body, nursing midwifery, and health care as the characteristics.
