[Basic Information] Guangxi Agricultural Vocational and Technical College (hereinafter referred to as the "College") was founded in 1942 and is the only public higher vocational college directly under the autonomous region that focuses on agriculture and animal husbandry. The predecessor of the college was Guangxi Agricultural School, a national key technical secondary school. In August 2002, it was upgraded to a full-time general higher education school approved by the People’s Government of the Autonomous Region. The honorary title of "Advanced Unit in Education", was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in Vocational Education in the Region" by the Education Department, Development and Reform Commission, Department of Finance, Department of Personnel, Department of Labor and Social Security, Department of Agriculture, and Poverty Alleviation Office of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in December 2005, 2007 It was approved as a sub-department-level institution directly affiliated to the autonomous region in July 2008. It was recognized by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Education Department as "the first batch of vocational education demonstration higher vocational colleges in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region" in December 2008. It was approved by Guangxi in January 2011. The Education Department and the Department of Finance of the Zhuang Autonomous Region have been recognized as "Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Demonstrative Higher Vocational Colleges". In June 2013, they were identified by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Education Department as "Guangxi Characteristic Colleges and Universities Construction Project Approval Construction University".
