Guangxi Electric Power Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public higher education institution organized by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and approved by the Ministry of Education. It is directly under the management of the Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Its predecessor was the trinity of Nanning Electric Power School, Guangxi Electric Power Technical School, and Guangxi Electric Power Training Center. It was founded in 1979 and was originally affiliated to the Ministry of Electric Power Industry and directly managed by Guangxi Electric Power Industry Bureau. Since 2001, it has been transferred to the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and is directly under the Autonomous Region Education Department. In 2004, it was upgraded to a higher vocational school approved by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is a key training unit for the establishment of the Guangxi characteristic college construction project and the autonomous region's model higher vocational college.
Over 30 years of running the school, with the enthusiastic care and support of superior leaders and all walks of life, the college has developed into a major energy and power major, coordinated development of multiple disciplines, and integrates full-time higher vocational education and adult education. Specialized continuing education, vocational skills training and technical services are integrated, and the largest and strongest comprehensive new-type electric power vocational colleges in the country's electric power vocational colleges. The main campus of the college is located in the National High-tech Industrial Development Zone of Nanning City. The east campus is located at No.15 Anji Avenue, Nanning City. The new campus is located in Wuxiang New District, Nanning City. The college currently has 518 faculty members, 360 full-time teachers on campus, 72 full-time teachers with senior professional titles, 169 teachers with intermediate professional titles, 104 "dual-qualified" teachers, and teachers with doctoral, master's and postgraduate qualifications 170 people, the college also hired a large number of part-time teachers from industry companies, forming a team of teachers with professional skills, high quality, love and dedication, combination of professional and part-time teachers, and full of vocational education characteristics.
