Nanning College was founded in 1985 and was co-organized by the Nanning Municipal People's Government and the Guangxi District Committee of the National Revolutionary Committee of the People's Republic of China. In November 2012, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate university.
