The School of Information Technology of Guilin University of Electronic Technology (hereinafter referred to as the school) was established in 2001 and is an institution of higher learning approved by the Ministry of Education to implement general undergraduate education. Guilin University of Electronic Science and Technology is one of the four universities of electronic science and technology in the country. The chief designer of China's lunar exploration project, the winner of the highest national science and technology award, and academician Sun Jiadong of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is the honorary president of Guilin University of Electronic Technology.
school is located in Guilin, a famous historical and cultural city and an international tourist attraction, adjacent to the Huajiang Campus of Guilin University of Electronic Technology. Relying on the discipline and professional advantages of Guilin University of Electronic Technology, as well as high-quality education, teaching and management resources, it has gradually developed into an ordinary undergraduate college with a relatively high level of education. There are currently 31 undergraduate majors, recruiting full-time general undergraduates from 25 provinces (municipalities, autonomous regions) across the country, with nearly 10,000 students.

Study environment. The school covers an area of nearly 1,000 acres, with a beautiful campus environment and complete learning and living conditions. The school was rated as "China's Comprehensive Strength Independent College", "Guangxi University's Advanced Unit for Ideological and Political Work", "Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Colleges and Universities Safe and Civilized Campus", "Autonomous Region Health Excellent School", "National College Student Apartment Management Service Advanced Unit" . Professional Construction. Guided by market demand, after years of construction, the school has formed a distinctive professional construction pattern. Three major engineering professional groups have been established: electronic information technology, computer engineering application technology, and mechanical design manufacturing and equipment. The computer science and technology professional group is the first-stage pilot professional group for the transformation and development of newly-built undergraduate colleges in Guangxi, and the electronic information engineering major, material forming and control engineering majors are the key majors of private universities in Guangxi. The major of material forming and control engineering was rated as the characteristic major and curriculum integration construction project of Guangxi colleges and universities.
platform construction. Cooperated with TI, NI, and Xunfang, and won 3 industry-academic cooperative education projects of the Ministry of Education. Established 6 college students' innovation practice bases in different disciplines, including communications, 1 college student innovation and entrepreneurship center, and 1 college student love tea room. The engineering and technical personnel practice education base was rated as the "autonomous region-level university students' off-campus practice education base", and the university students' innovation and entrepreneurship center was rated as the "Guangxi University Student Entrepreneurship Demonstration Base". The Mental Health Education and Counseling Center for College Students was selected as the first batch of Guangxi University Student Mental Health and Counseling Demonstration Centers. Joined the National Alliance of Applied Technology Universities (Colleges) to further promote the school's process of building a high-level applied technology university.

The school adheres to the fundamental task of cultivating people by virtue, adheres to the school-running philosophy of "education-oriented, quality-based", and is committed to cultivating high-level applied talents with innovative spirit and practical ability. Continuously deepen the integration of production and education, promote school-enterprise cooperation, implement the "3+1" and other school-enterprise joint training models, and build a collaborative education mechanism between schools, industries and enterprises. The student men’s basketball team won the 9th place in the 2016 CUBA (Sunshine Group) Chinese University Basketball League Finals, which is the best result of Guangxi University University Basketball in the national league. Scholarships and bursaries. In order to encourage students with excellent academic performance and establish a good academic atmosphere, the school has established various scholarships, among which the special scholarship is 10,000 yuan/year, the first, second, and third-class scholarships are 6,000 yuan/year, 3,000 yuan/year, and 1,500 yuan/year respectively. In the year, the national scholarship is 8,000 yuan/year, the national inspirational scholarship is 5,000 yuan/year, and the autonomous region people’s government scholarship is 5,000 yuan/year.
