Liuzhou Institute of Technology was founded in 2002, formerly known as Lushan College of Guangxi University of Science and Technology, jointly organized by Liuzhou City Government and Guangxi University of Science and Technology. In April 2020, the school was approved by the Ministry of Education to be transformed into an ordinary full-time undergraduate college supervised by the Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and was renamed "Liuzhou Institute of Technology".
The school is located in Liuzhou, an important historical and cultural city in Guangxi. The campus covers an area of 1283.21 acres, with a total investment of more than 1.3 billion yuan and a total construction area of 425,400 square meters. It has a group of advanced teaching and experimental training buildings with supporting facilities, and has built nearly 170 practical teaching platforms such as basic experimental centers, metalworking practice centers, professional experimental training rooms, simulation experimental training centers, etc. The library's paper collection is about 106.08 million copies.
