Guangxi University of Science and Technology

Guangxi University of Science and Technology is located in Liuzhou, a national historical and cultural city and an important industrial town, transportation hub, and trade and logistics center in Southwest China. The school was established by the merger of the former Guangxi Institute of Technology and the former Liuzhou Medical College on April 18, 2013 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. 9 university disciplines, including art and education, are directly under the general higher education institutions managed by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.


  


   There are 3 campuses in Donghuan, Liushi and Liudong, covering an area of nearly 4,000 acres. There are 20 secondary colleges, 19 research institutes (centers), 2 directly affiliated hospitals, and 79 undergraduate majors; there are nearly 1,800 faculty members and more than 27,000 full-time students.


The school has the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center, the National Key Construction Professional Teacher Training and Training Base, the National Automobile Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (co-construction), Guangxi Engineering Technology Research Center (co-construction), Guangxi University Collaborative Innovation Center, Guangxi School and Enterprise School There are more than 30 teaching and research platforms, including scientific research platforms, autonomous region key laboratories, autonomous region-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, and autonomous region-level demonstration higher vocational education and training bases.    The school further accelerates the pace of establishing a discipline for doctoral degree authorization, and strives to become a doctoral degree-granting authority as soon as possible. Taking professional certification (evaluation) as the starting point, strengthen the construction of new engineering disciplines, comprehensively improve the level of professional education, and strive to cultivate "the backbone of the industry and the bond of innovation". Students have repeatedly achieved good results in national college students' "Challenge Cup", electronic design, mechanical innovation design, mathematical modeling and other discipline competitions, as well as national college student art performances, rock climbing, handball and other cultural and sports competitions.


   The school insists on focusing on leading talents and team building, optimizing the structure of the talent team, establishing and improving the talent team building mechanism and high-level talent work support system. In 2016, the school and TusHoldings Co., Ltd. jointly established the "Guangxi University of Science and Technology Tus Digital College" to build a demonstration training base for applied talents in the digital technology industry. In 2017, it signed a cooperative education agreement with Guizhou Weiai Education Technology Co., Ltd. to jointly build the "Guangxi University of Science and Technology Hongda Weiai Institute of Technology" to cultivate professionals in the field of virtual reality. In 2018, signed a cooperation agreement with Liuzhou City Government and Loge Technology Co., Ltd. to jointly build the "Rococo Design Institute of Guangxi University of Science and Technology" to jointly build Guangxi Industrial Design City; signed an agreement with Guangxi Sports Bureau to jointly build a "Guangxi Rock Climbing Team" and strive Cultivate talents for being selected for the 2020 Olympic Games.


   The school attaches great importance to the development of international exchanges and cooperation, and constantly improves the international level of education. At present, the school has cooperated with Edinburgh University of Edinburgh and Southern Cross University in Australia to run 2 undergraduate programs, with a total of 428 students; recruiting 430 international students (including non-academic education). At the same time, the school has carried out multi-level and multi-form exchanges and cooperation with 39 universities in 13 countries including the United States, Germany, France, Ireland, South Korea, and Vietnam, and its international influence is growing.
