Guangxi University of Finance and Economics

Guangxi University of Finance and Economics was established in 2004 by the merger of the former Guangxi College of Finance and Guangxi College of Commerce. It is the only independent general undergraduate college of finance and economics in Guangxi and a key university of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The school passed the qualification assessment of undergraduate teaching work in 2010, became the master's training unit of accounting for "Serving the special needs of the country" in 2011, and became the "China-ASEAN Finance and Taxation Talent Training Center" awarded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education in 2012, 2013 In 2014, it became the establishment and construction unit of Guangxi characteristic universities. In 2014, it was recognized as the first batch of "2011 collaborative innovation centers" in Guangxi universities. In 2016, it was approved by the Ministry of Education for the construction of applied undergraduate colleges. The "Economy and Management Experimental Teaching Center" was approved for national experimental teaching. Demonstration center, in 2017 became the first batch of demonstration universities in the country to deepen innovation and entrepreneurship education reform by the Ministry of Education.


There are 13 colleges, 1 teaching department, 51 undergraduate majors, and 1 master's degree authorization point. There are 26,635 full-time undergraduates, postgraduates, junior college students, and international students, including 20,046 undergraduates. Undergraduates account for 75.26% of the total number of full-time students.


There are now 1,099 full-time teachers, 1 national "Ten Thousand Talents Program" philosophy and social science leader, 1 national cultural master and "four batches" talent, and 1 national candidate for the "New Century Talent Project". One candidate for the "New Century Excellent Talents Support Program" of the Ministry of Education, 3 experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, 6 second-level professors, 3 autonomous region-level teaching teams, and 2 autonomous region-level teaching teachers.


There are 8 national-level projects of various "undergraduate teaching projects" and 49 provincial-level projects. Among them, there is 1 national-level talent training model innovation experimental zone, 2 national-level characteristic majors, 1 national-level professional comprehensive reform pilot project, 1 national-level experimental teaching demonstration center, and 1 national-level university student off-campus practical education base construction project , 1 national-level video open course, 1 national-level bilingual teaching demonstration course; 2 provincial-level talent training innovation experimental areas, 1 provincial-level professional construction project for shortage of talents, 25 provincial-level superior characteristic majors (groups), provincial One-level virtual simulation experiment center, 4 provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, 3 provincial-level quality video open courses, and 13 provincial-level quality courses. Won 3 national teaching reform projects, 201 provincial teaching reform projects; 1 national teaching achievement second prize, 11 provincial teaching achievement first prizes, 11 second prizes, and 12 third prizes. Three-level innovation and entrepreneurship teaching achievement awards; more than 150 awards in various national college students' competitions such as the China "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the "Challenge Cup" National College Student Extracurricular Academic Technology Competition and the China College Student Entrepreneurship Plan Competition.


Constructed a discipline system focusing on economics and management disciplines, and coordinated development of economics, management, literature, law, science, engineering, and art. There are 11 secondary disciplines such as economics, accounting, finance, and finance. It is recognized as a key discipline or a discipline with a characteristic advantage in Guangxi universities; it is a master's degree granting unit in Guangxi's project construction. There are 1 provincial key laboratory (cultivation), 1 Guangxi university key laboratory, 4 humanities research bases, and 4 autonomous region-level think tanks. In recent years, it has undertaken more than 1,200 scientific research projects at various levels, including 76 national-level research projects. Projects (1 major project of the National Social Science Fund, 3 key projects), 327 provincial and ministerial level; 36 scientific research achievement awards above the provincial and ministerial level.


It has established inter-school cooperative relations with more than 50 universities and educational institutions in foreign countries, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, especially with frequent exchanges with universities in ASEAN countries. There are 2 Sino-foreign cooperative education projects, 5 Sino-foreign inter-school exchange projects, and 1 ACCA global exam test center.


The campus covers an area of 4276 acres (of which the Wuming campus is under construction), the school building area is 419,400 square meters, the total value of fixed assets is 1.029 billion yuan, and the total value of teaching and research equipment is 280 million yuan. The library has a building area of 46,000 square meters, a collection of 3.29 million books and e-books, and 46 databases in Chinese and foreign languages.
