Guangdong Maoming Preschool Teachers College is a higher normal college sponsored by the Maoming Municipal People’s Government, and it is the first batch of preschool teachers’ colleges in Guangdong Province.
The predecessor of the school was Guangdong University of Petroleum and Chemical Technology Gaozhou Teachers College. It was founded in 1930 as Maoming County Rural Normal School; in 1949, it merged with Guangdong Provincial Gaozhou Women’s Normal School to form Guangdong Provincial Gaozhou Normal School; in 1980, it was approved by the provincial people. The government approved the change of name to Guangdong Gaozhou Normal School; in 1993, it piloted the "three-two segment" junior college class, which is one of the 36 pilot schools in the country; in 2001, it was merged into Maoming College as a secondary college and renamed as Gaozhou Normal Branch of Maoming College ; In 2010, it was renamed Gaozhou Teachers College of Guangdong University of Petrochemical Technology. On February 29, 2016, the People's Government of Guangdong Province approved the establishment of Guangdong Maoming Preschool Teachers College on the basis of Gaozhou Teachers College of Guangdong University of Petrochemical Technology.
