Heyuan Vocational and Technical College is a full-time general higher education school sponsored by the Heyuan Municipal People's Government, located in Jiangdong New District, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province. The school is backed by Wutong Mountain, faces the Dongjiang River, and is close to the Donghuan Road, with beautiful scenery and convenient transportation. The school covers an area of 1,500 acres, with a total construction area of 277,000 square meters. The campus has a teaching building, Laolong Normal University Memorial Building, student apartments, teacher and student dining halls, libraries, training centers, academic exchange centers, gymnasiums and other infrastructure facilities. The school was upgraded and established in 2001 from the original Guangdong Laolong Normal School. In 2004, it was relocated to the urban area of Heyuan to run the school. At the end of 2007, it passed the evaluation of the level of talent training in higher vocational colleges by the Ministry of Education. In 2010, it became the counterpart of 15 middle and higher vocational schools in the province. One of the vocational colleges that recruits students. In 2011, it became one of the province's third- and second-stage enrollment pilot colleges.    There are 12,070 full-time college students, 731 faculty members, including 546 full-time teachers, 160 of whom have associate titles or above, 361 doctors and masters, and 477 dual-qualified teachers. The school has 7 teaching departments including the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Electronics and Information Engineering, the School of Business Administration, the School of Art and Design, the School of Humanities, the School of Continuing Education, and the Department of Ideological and Political Theory Teaching; it has applied electronic technology, mold design and 48 majors in manufacturing, tourism management, costume design, secretarial, English education, music performance, etc.; 35 on-campus practice bases and 488 off-campus practice bases have been built; the total value of existing teaching equipment is 120 million yuan, and the library paper collection 1.0894 million copies.
