Guangdong Songshan Vocational and Technical College is a full-time general higher vocational college sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government and directly managed by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. The school’s predecessor was the Guangdong Shaoguan Iron and Steel Group Workers’ College. In June 2000, it was restructured with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government. The school currently has two campuses: Qujiang campus is located in Qujiang District, Shaoguan City, adjacent to the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway, close to Guangshao Highway, and adjacent to Nanhua Temple, a scenic spot in northern Guangdong, covering an area of 397,000 square meters; Zhenjiang campus is located in Shaoguan, Guangdong Province No. 50 Yuanquan Road, Zhenjiang District, City, covering an area of 217,000 square meters.
