Qingyuan Vocational and Technical College

Qingyuan Vocational and Technical College was established in 2002 and is a comprehensive public higher education institution organized by Qingyuan Municipal People's Government. The college is located in Qingyuan, an excellent tourist city and a livable city in China known as the "Back Garden of the Pearl River Delta". Qingyuan is only 60 kilometers away from Guangzhou city center and adjacent to Baiyun International Airport. The Guangqing Expressway, Guangle Expressway, and Beijing-Guangzhou Railway run from north to south. The Beijing-Guangzhou High-speed Railway has Qingyuan Station in the urban area with convenient transportation.


  The college has 7 secondary colleges, including the College of Nursing, the College of Foreign Languages and Economics and Trade, the College of Mechanical and Electrical and Automotive Engineering, the College of Tourism Home Economics and Art, the College of Information Technology and Creative Design, the College of Food and Drugs, and the College of Continuing Education. There are currently 12,000 full-time vocational students. The college implements the "Strengthen Teacher Project" and strengthens the construction of the teaching staff. There is a shortage of 27 high-level talents in Qingyuan City, 2 leading talents in higher vocational education in Guangdong Province, and 3 outstanding young teachers in Guangdong colleges and universities. People, 1 high-level talent training project of Guangdong Yangfan plan, 1 project of "Sailing Plan" key talent project of Qingyuan City.


   The college adheres to the school-running philosophy of "people-oriented, innovative, collaborative, and high-quality" and the orientation of "cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents for regional economic and social development, by virtue of fostering people, combining work and learning, and training high-quality technical and skilled personnel for regional economic and social development." Since 2016, the "three-step" development strategy has been implemented, and the development goal of building higher vocational colleges with national influence and competitiveness has been proposed. The college has been awarded the honorary titles of "Guangdong Province Civilized Unit", "Guangdong Province Civilized Campus", "Guangdong Province Advanced Unit for Ethical Construction of Employees", "Guangdong Province Advanced School for Comprehensive Management of Public Security in Colleges and Universities", "Guangdong Province Advanced Unit for Recruitment Work" and other honorary titles. Determined as a demonstration unit of higher vocational colleges in Guangdong Province. In 2005, Zhang Dejiang, then secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, affirmed the work of the college when inspecting the college, and wrote an inscription for the college: "Prosper education, scientific development, Qingyuan's grand plan, and Panlong take off. Build Qingyuan Vocational and Technical College into a first-class vocational and technical college in the country. ."


In recent years, the college has taken the construction of provincial demonstration higher vocational colleges as the starting point, guided by the “innovative and strong school project”, and promoted connotation construction. "Education, modern apprenticeship exploration and practice, and civilized campus construction have achieved significant results. The biopharmaceutical technology major is the first batch of demonstration majors in the health service category of vocational colleges nationwide. The three majors of pharmaceutical business and management, housekeeping service and management, and computer network technology are provincial-level brand professional construction projects. Nursing is the key specialty of provincial higher vocational education, and the five majors of biopharmaceutical technology, food biotechnology, mechatronics technology, electrical automation technology, and tourism management are key professional construction projects of provincial higher vocational education. Rehabilitation treatment technology and electronic information engineering technology are two majors that are supported by the central government to support higher vocational colleges to enhance their professional service industry development capabilities. Six majors, including medical cosmetology technology and mechatronics technology, are the majors of the Ministry of Education for the promotion of modern apprenticeship pilot programs. The quality of education and teaching in the college has been continuously improved, and students have repeatedly achieved good results in participating in various national, provincial, and municipal skill competitions.


  The college has relatively complete teaching facilities and equipment. The training base for professional groups of nursing, mechatronics technology, and computer application technology is a vocational education training base supported by the central government. The six training bases of biopharmaceutical technology, food biotechnology, automobile maintenance and testing technology, midwifery, accounting, and business English are provincial higher vocational education training bases supported by provincial finance. The Public Training Center of Culture, Education and Art, the Training Center of Information Technology and Creative Design, and the Public Training Center of Internet Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship are the public training centers of higher vocational education in Guangdong Province. The college has established school-enterprise partnerships with more than 460 enterprises (industry) units, and established a large number of high-quality off-campus training, internship, and employment bases for various majors. The off-campus practice teaching base for college students majoring in nursing, tourism management, computer application, automobile inspection and maintenance is a key construction project of the province.


In the context of the national "One Belt One Road" strategy, the college strengthens international cooperation and exchanges, actively responds to the national development plan of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and has successively cooperated with overseas higher education institutions in Australia, South Korea, New Zealand, Malaysia, the United States and Hong Kong, Taiwan and other regions. Many colleges and universities have established cooperative and exchange relations, and cooperated in personnel training, curriculum system construction, teacher training, exchange student learning exchanges, etc., learning and introducing internationally advanced, mature and applicable professional curriculum standards, teaching materials systems and other high-quality educational resources, and focusing on training High-quality technical and technical personnel with an international perspective.
