Jiangmen Vocational and Technical College was formally established in July 2004. It is a full-time public higher vocational college formed by the former Jiangmen Education College, Jiangmen Industrial Secondary Vocational School and Jiangmen Finance and Trade School. In 2009, the school passed the evaluation and acceptance of the talent training work of higher vocational colleges by the Ministry of Education. In 2010, it initiated the establishment of a provincial demonstration school and the construction of the "Innovative and Strong School Project". In 2012, it became a provincial demonstration higher vocational college training unit and in 2013 The construction unit passed the acceptance inspection in 2018. Now it is the lead unit of Jiangmen Vocational Education Federation, the vice-chairman unit of Guangdong Province "One Belt One Road" Vocational Education Alliance and Preschool Education Teacher Development Alliance.
The main campus of the school is located on the shore of the beautiful Xijiang River, with a planned land area of 1,080 acres and a school building area of 292,500 square meters. There are 8 teaching departments, including materials technology, electronics and information technology, economic management, electromechanical technology, education and education technology, foreign language, art design and ideological and political theory teaching departments, and open new materials and chemical engineering, advanced equipment manufacturing, and intelligence. 49 majors in manufacturing and modern service. It is connected with Cuishan Lake Industrial Park, High-tech Development Zone, Pengjiang District "Talent Island", Johnson Electric and other industrial parks, major projects, and key enterprises. Cooperate with Gudou Hot Spring Company, Sinopec and other large enterprises to build a modern apprenticeship pilot; cooperate with Gudou Hot Spring Company to establish a hot spring college. Cooperate with Taishan City School to build Xinning College of Jiangmen Vocational College, and set up tourism management, mold manufacturing, mechatronics and other majors. Signed a cooperation agreement with the Macau Institute of Tourism, exploring the joint establishment of qualification standards for the tourism industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, actively promoting the establishment of the Greater Bay Area Tourism Vocational Education Alliance, and jointly promoting the training of tourism talents.
