School badge and motto

The CUHK uses the "phoenix" in Chinese mythology as its school emblem. Since the Han Dynasty, the phoenix has been regarded as the "bird of the south" and has always been a symbol of nobility, beauty, loyalty and solemnity. Purple and gold are the colors of the CUHK campus. The purple symbolizes enthusiasm and loyalty, and the gold symbolizes perseverance and courage.

The school motto of CUHK is "Bo Wen and Li". Knowledge is deep and broad, which is the blog post, and the etiquette is the convention. Confucius’ main educational discipline is "Bao Wen and Li", which is contained in the "Analects of Confucius": "Zi said: A gentleman is knowledgeable in literary, and he can use rituals to make appointments. It can also be used as a morale." CUHK education policy is moral. Wisdom is equally important, so the school motto is "Bowens and Gifts".
