Guangzhou Software Institute

Guangzhou Software College (formerly the Huasoft Software College of Guangzhou University) was established in 2002 and began to implement undergraduate level education in 2006. The predecessor was Huasoft Software College of Guangzhou University. In December 2020, approved by the Ministry of Education, Guangdong Provincial People’s Government Agree, transfer to Guangzhou Software Institute, referred to as "Guangsoft".


The college is located in the high-tech industrial park of Guangzhou Conghua Economic Development Zone, the core of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, adjacent to the Taiping Station of Guangzhou Metro Line 14, with convenient transportation. The college has 9 departments including Software Engineering Department, Network Technology Department, Electronics Department, Computer Department, Digital Media Department, Game Department, Management Department, Finance Department, Foreign Language Department, etc., including Guangdong Province characteristic professional software engineering and network engineering. The 30 undergraduate majors cover 5 university disciplines including engineering, art, management, economics, and literature. There are more than 15,000 undergraduate students. The college has scientific positioning, advanced concepts, rigorous academic research, and standardized management. Since its establishment, the employment rate of graduates has been stable at over 94%, and more than 40,000 composite and applied talents with innovative spirit and practical ability have been cultivated for the society. The employment area is mainly concentrated in the Pearl River Delta. The overall satisfaction of graduates with the job is more than 95%, and the overall evaluation satisfaction of the graduates of our college by employers is stable at about 92%.


The college pays attention to the combination of talent training and regional economic and social development, based on the application of information technology in various industries, and focuses on development including software engineering, network engineering, Internet of things engineering, data science and big data technology, network and new media, etc. IT majors are the core advantageous disciplines to cultivate application-oriented talents that meet the needs of the development of the national information industry.


The college has 680 full-time teachers, of which 31% are senior professional titles. 170 part-time teachers. The college adheres to the strategy of “strengthening the school with talents” and attracts outstanding talents at home and abroad. Teachers include experts and professors from public universities, returnees from overseas, and “dual-qualified” talents with rich practical experience from enterprises.
