Guangzhou Maritime College is a public general undergraduate college and the only independent maritime undergraduate college in South China. Its predecessor was the Guangzhou Maritime School established in 1964 by the Guangzhou Maritime Administration of the Ministry of Communications. It was approved by the Ministry of Communications in 1981. Guangzhou Maritime School and Guangzhou Water Transport Industry School merged to form Guangzhou Maritime School directly under the Ministry of Communications; in 1992, with the approval of the State Education Commission, Guangzhou Maritime School merged with Guangzhou Maritime Division of Wuhan Water Transport Engineering College to form Guangzhou Maritime Technical College directly under the Ministry of Communications, 1998 In 2002, it was transferred to the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government; in 2002, with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government, Guangzhou Navigation Engineering School was merged into Guangzhou Navigation College; in 2013, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Guangzhou Navigation College was upgraded to a general undergraduate college. The school has 13 teaching units, including navigation technology, marine engineering, marine electronic and electrical engineering, transportation, logistics engineering, port and coastal engineering, communication engineering, business English, ship and ocean engineering, electrical engineering and automation, Computer science and technology, engineering management, energy and power engineering, international business, traffic management, maritime management, e-commerce, digital media art, civil engineering, electronic information engineering, financial management, mechanical engineering, finance, law, tourism management, There are 29 undergraduate majors in robotics engineering, software engineering, logistics management, cruise engineering and management, which recruit students from 25 provinces and cities (districts) across the country, with more than 13,800 full-time students.
