Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (Chinese abbreviation "Beishi Hong Kong Baptist University", English abbreviation "UIC") is the first university jointly established by the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong higher education sector, and the first new liberal arts in China The university is located in Zhuhai, a livable city in China-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.


With special approval from the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, as well as strong support from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, Zhuhai Municipal Government, and all walks of life, Beishi Hong Kong Baptist University was established in 2005 by Professor Xu Jialu, the former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and Professor Wu Qinghui, the founding principal of the National People’s Congress. Professor Xu Jialu is the chairman of the board of trustees, and Professor Tang Tao, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is the president. Beishi Hong Kong Baptist University implements English teaching, and the academic standards are in line with international standards. The school has four faculties of business administration, culture and creativity, humanities and social sciences, and science and technology, as well as a graduate school. There are 25 undergraduate majors (directions), 5 research-based graduate majors, and 1 teaching-based graduate major. Current students More than 7000 people. Undergraduate graduates were awarded a graduation certificate from Beijing Normal University, Hong Kong Baptist University and a bachelor's degree from Hong Kong Baptist University. Master and doctoral students were awarded a degree from Hong Kong Baptist University.

Beishigang HKBU has introduced outstanding talents from all over the world and continuously optimized and upgraded the teaching staff. The current faculty team comes from more than 30 countries and regions, among which 100% of the teachers at the level of lecturers and above have study abroad or work experience in overseas universities. Since 2019, many heavyweight experts and scholars have joined UIC one after another. The school has introduced a total of 151 lecturers and above-level teaching staff, including 9 chair professors, 13 professors, and 18 associate professors.

The school often welcomes domestic and foreign scholars to give lectures and exchange academics. As of March 2021, Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong Baptist University have established cooperative relations with more than 50 foreign universities, providing students with rich opportunities for study tours, exchanges, and experience of foreign culture and education.


Beishigang HKBU attaches great importance to the inheritance and dissemination of the excellent traditional Chinese culture, so that students can be familiar with national conditions and national studies, and cultivate the feelings of family and country. Absorbing the essence of the ancient six arts of "ritual, music, shooting, imperialism, calligraphy, and number", the school offers related courses such as guqin, gaga music, and Chinese shooting. The liberal arts education of Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong HKBU focuses on teaching and promotes the benign interaction between teaching and scientific research. The school has received funding support for the “Innovative and Strong School Project” of Guangdong Province for six consecutive years.
