Guangzhou South College (formerly Southern College of Sun Yat- Selected as a pilot university for general undergraduate transformation in Guangdong Province. The school has gathered a group of deans, academic leaders and management backbones who have inherited the fine traditions and spiritual culture of domestic first-class universities. 1. Basic situation


The school is located in Conghua District, Guangzhou, known as the "Pearl of the Tropic of Cancer" and "Guangzhou Back Garden". The campus covers an area of 1092.09 acres. After more than ten years of construction and development, the goal of running a school with a 1,000-acre campus, a scale of ten thousand people, a complete range of disciplines, a gathering of famous teachers, and a large number of talents has been basically achieved. The campus is well-arranged, beautiful and quiet, and is a place to cultivate sentiment, study and study.


The school library covers an area of 29,100 square meters, with a collection of more than 19.749 million paper books and more than 1 million e-books. It shares 68,375 Chinese electronic journals, 52,123 foreign electronic journals, 1.5437 million Chinese e-books, and foreign electronic books. With 559,800 books, it has been initially built into a digital library; it adopts a 24-hour open management model to meet the needs of readers in an all-round way.


Discipline development


The school has 10 faculties and 42 enrollment undergraduate majors, forming a discipline system that focuses on management, literature, and engineering, and has coordinated development of economics, medicine, and art, with a reasonable structure and complementary advantages. There are 19,162 undergraduates and 2,306 continuing education students. The school pursues the characteristics and level of disciplines and majors by implementing "differentiated" dislocation development and "unbalanced" supporting development strategies.

In the past three years, the school has undertaken 1 national social science fund project, 68 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects (including 3 humanities and social science research projects of the Ministry of Education), 43 horizontal projects, with a total project funding of 17,538,700 yuan; public announcements by teachers 292 high-level papers collected by CSSCI, SSCI, SCI, EI, TSSCI and other core journals at home and abroad; 12 reports were provided to the government, 2 of which were approved by the main leaders of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government. 2. Faculty construction


The school vigorously implements the strategy of “strengthening the school with talents”, and continuously strengthens the construction of the teaching staff through external introduction and internal training, and has established a full-time, professional-cum-cumulative, broad-view, high-quality teaching team that meets the needs of application-oriented undergraduate talent training .
